The Universe has a predilection for returning to Balance

When in doubt, do nothing.

Whoever does it, gets to choose

What's truly important?
Just what is "Reality"?

Wise teachers tried to slip us the secret of life when we were mere children. Was it obscured as you grew up by the barrage of commercial messages appealing to your lesser instincts? Here it is in a nutshell:

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream

Wouldn't you say that some of the most important things that have ever happened to you were too coincidental, too appropriate, to be explainable rationally? Didn't they happen almost the way they would happen in a dream?
Life presents scary and unexpected issues and events, just like dreams; but somewhere in the back of our minds we realize that this dream will be over and we will breathe a sigh of relief and have one more opportunity to experience a new day, all the brighter for being more comfortable than last night's dream.

Why You Should Hesitate to Accept Paypal Payments.

As a longtime fan of eBay, I had heard complaints over the years about Paypal's policies favoring buyers over sellers, but doubted them and continued to enjoy the convenience and security of the Paypal system, even though it's a bit expensive to the seller. I learned that the complaints were true.

Briefly, I sold a printer on eBay. It was unused, in factory packaging. The Purchaser made a claim to Paypal and sent me back his identical, but broken, printer.

Paypal routinely approves all buyer complaints without investigating whether claims may be fraudulent, or even having a capable arbitrator look at evidence. Paypal refunded his payment, including shipping charges, and charged it back to me.

Paypal says their decisions can be appealed. I did appeal it and although I received a notification from Paypal that they would consider the appeal and notify me within a month, that time has long passed and they never replied to me at all.

My rant from 2004, which came true regarding the war:

There are numerous explanations as to how we got here. Even if we give the current administration all the benefits of all the doubts, and try to find some interpretation of their actions that could be construed as well-meaning, the fact remains that the rest of the world that still has some affection for America is waiting to see how we vote November 2nd. Now, they can say that it is only this administration that deserves their disrespect, not the American people. But if Bush is returned to office, after telling us his mountain of never ending lies, then we, the people, will also be to blame.
Beware if that happens, for there are countless ways the people and nations of the world can and will work toward the diminution of U.S. economic and cultural power in the world. The repercussions will be felt for decades.
